Yoga therapy is defined by Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D as “the use of the techniques of Yoga to create, stimulate, and maintain an optimum state of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.”

In a Yoga Therapy session with Tricia, you will work with her one-one-one. A session will be crafted specifically for you based on your concerns, your pains and/or injuries, and your body's history.

In her Yoga Therapy work, Tricia focuses on fascial release and therapeutic movement.

Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, blood vessels, nerves, and organs. When it’s healthy, fascia allows your muscles to slide and glide as you move, but when your fascia gets tight and stuck, it can restrict movement and cause pain. Release of fascia can be achieved with the use of props, special techniques, and yoga poses.
Movement can be therapeutic and help ease restrictions in soft tissue. Movement can also help to repattern the neuromuscular system.
The goal of Tricia's Yoga Therapy sessions are to help release fascial “stuck-ness,” decrease tension, increase glide between tissues, and achieve greater ease of movement. This type of practice can help to calm your nervous system, allow you to take a deeper breath, and to use less effort in movement.
